Cars on Celluloid

It is man’s fascination to travel from one place to another in lesser time and more comfort which led to the invention of the car in the early 18th and 19th centuries. It is also man’s fascination which has made him feature cars in movies and sometimes base the whole movie on his great invention. Through the years, hundreds of movies have been made on cars. Cars have not only been the main focus, but have also been used as style statements and side-kicks to film characters. Movies such as ‘Gone in 60 seconds’, ‘Fast and the Furious’ series and others have not only done great business at the box office, but have set fashion trends over the years. With another century of fancy cars coming up, we can expect to see more such movies.
